Trilogy Complete!
The Divine Darkness
The Eternal End, the final installment of The Divine Darkness trilogy, released yesterday. The story follows two groups of people, each certain that they view the truth about of the world and their enemies. It reflects the divide currently crumbling the United States and many other parts of the world, with each side literally seeing the other as demonic (and therefore no longer human). The trilogy is a statement about perception, love, hate, and corruption.
Book One: A mysterious apocryphal event transforms nearly everyone on Earth, shaping them according to their worst fears or their most profound beliefs. The streets become inundated with vampires, werewolves, spontaneously combusting humans, and other horrors—all while winged beings rise to the top of the new order, ready to exterminate anyone who threatens their faith.
Circumstances propel two seemingly random strangers to the frontlines. Randy Thomas has an epiphany that inspires him to raise a fervent army of true believers. Alisha Brown finds herself the target of vengeful creatures, while random strangers begin to worship her in awe.
Each has been touched by the hand of fate, and each believes they are humanity’s last hope. But when the laws of reality no longer apply, and no one can trust even their own eyes, belief can become a funny thing…
Book Two: A dozen years have passed since the world’s collapse, leaving society even more divided than ever and the survivors fighting over resources. Monsters born from the collective fears of humanity rule abandoned cities, while remote groups struggle in small enclaves to patch together some semblance of normalcy.
John, the son of Randy Thomas, is among the few people living in privilege. His citizens are convinced he’s the Second Coming, and they’ve dedicated their lives to keeping him comfortable and safe. They believe the threat of the Antichrist is near, and they’re willing to raze what’s left of their country to the ground to destroy the perceived evil.
Aurora, daughter of the virgin Alisha Brown, knows she’s special, even if she’s not quite sure why or how. She knows the people who look like demons have been looking for her, determined to see her dead, but she also knows looks can be deceiving. An attack sends her and her protectors fleeing toward an allied camp hundreds of miles away, but the journey is fraught with danger, and their enemy is still in pursuit.
Both children hold the very fabric of time and space in the palms of their hands. When they learn the truth behind the illusion driving the divide, the world suddenly faces an even larger threat—one that could destroy everything.
Book Three: Over two decades have passed since Randy Thomas fatally tipped the balance between good and evil, tearing the fabric of reality and bringing all of humanity’s greatest fears to life. War ravages much of the world, while the shaky remnants of the United States are more divided than ever. Randy, the country’s self-proclaimed king, will stop at nothing to realize his mission to eradicate the Enemy, but his twenty-one-year-old son, John, has radically different ideas.
Across the continent, Alisha Brown strives to keep her daughter, Aurora, hidden from attacking forces. Both understand all too well that they live in a world where no one can trust their eyes—and that enemies and allies can each come from the least expected places.
Like Aurora, John wants to end the fighting and mend the divide, leaving him at odds with his power-drunk father. When Randy becomes a threat to his own son’s life, Aurora—along with her best friend, Sam, and opinionated tuxedo cat, Spock—embark on a trek across the country to save John’s life. The group must cross the distance, past hordes of monsters and other horrors, in time to stop their sworn enemy from leveling his opposition.
But when reality itself threatens to unravel, will the only two people capable of preventing the end of all existence uncover the solution before it’s too late?
